HER GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS GAVE HER FIGS
They were such a treat. They would go out to the garden together and pick the ripe figs off the tree. Then they would return to the kitchen, put on their aprons, and set to work making grandmother's famous - at least in their family - confiture de figue. She could already taste it on her morning pain grillé.
